Advice for a Newbie please
Re: Advice for a Newbie please
There are usually a few of them in the camping area, probably members here though you likely won't see anything from exhibitors there still,
Not sure where you are in UK but if you'd like to look over a couple of members campers let me know and I'll see who is nearest to travel too for a Saturday morning cuppa and chat,

Re: Advice for a Newbie please
Oh actually I see you are in Worc's I'm sure I can find someone local
Re: Advice for a Newbie please
Hmm, seems you are in the one area most sparsely populated by members,
or come across via Warwickshire to me at here instead (or all) then you'd see Tischer, SKarosser, Suntrekker
there's a Bank holiday coming up soon so we'd have to see who's at home if thats of use to you
easily reached by road network might be either Somerset/Avon/Wales

Re: Advice for a Newbie please
I think I’ll go and have a look then I think SBS adventure campers are there so they might have a few with them to look at. I might have to take you up on that offer at some point especially if we end up looking abroad because it would be easier to know what we like/dislike before hand to avoid wasting time.
Re: Advice for a Newbie please
Yes SBS Gary & Morag
would be useful to look at their range, feel free to contact me if you'd like to arrange a visit
always happy to help

Hi Tom
Did you make it to the show . I just wondered what your first impression's were of the new De-mountable from SBS?

Re: Advice for a Newbie please
We did make it to the show, SBS had a Django and a Gazell Camper with them if I have remembered the names correctly. First impressions for both were very good as they both looked to be good examples and felt well built and sturdy. However we only had a quick look around to be nosey as both of these are pop tops and we are after a solid side model ideally.mjb666 wrote:Hi Tom

Re: Advice for a Newbie please
afternoon we have been looking at a demountable-camper after a few years now in our motorhomes, will be buying either a late model Mitsubishi L200 or Ford ranger pickup most likely
have had a good read through the(popular questions) section and obvious Airbag assistance on back axle is popular among your members.
The kits available from your sponsor Marcle look good but is there any other supplier you endorse for comparison

Re: Advice for a Newbie please
Hi & Welcome
A few of us have bought from Marcle and benefited from their experience but a quick search brings up both;
Air-ride & Dunlop, plus any number of fitting services as well although its not an overly technical job,
you may need air tools to remove the bumpstops on axle if seized

Re: Advice for a Newbie please
Actually after Tony was asking about air suspension i took a look at air ride and fortunately they offer a kit suitable for our Mazda (£554.00) which seemed not unreasonable?
that aside we are still following the campers coming up for sale featured here
(do like the skarroser today on eBay though)
