Re: Insurance
I should have known, far too simple - I got my CC and C&CCs mixed up. It turns out the Green Flag scheme is through the Caravan Club and I'm not a member, so that would be and extra £46 for membership. So I've taken out RAC personal breakdown cover for me and wife via Camping and Caravanning Clu...

I can't believe everything's going so well! Green Flag 'Mayday' cover via Caravan Club - £68 UK recovery with or without the camper attached. They will cover demountables for Europe too but you have to go through a separate 'Red Pennant' service. http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/insurance/uk-breakdown-a...

Re: Insurance
I've just been getting quotes for my insurance renewal due at beginning of May. Quotes from last year's insurers are :- Truck - Budget Insurance - £513 (includes breakdown cover for truck only) Camper - CCC - £160 (no breakdown cover) I also got a quote from Campton for truck and camper (but with no...

The mount for one of my front legs was a bit wobbly so I sent it to my tame fabricator to beef up a bit, and this is the email he sent me after he'd looked at it:- OK so the not so great news, after removing the RH front leg mount it became clear why it was struggling to do it's job. There is a leak...

Spotted - Ranger (I think) on a Hilux
Heading eastwards on the M4 near Swindon at 3 o'clock this afternoon. I asked my daughter to take a couple of snaps, but she is not a gifted paperazzi. http://i1368.photobucket.com/albums/ag196/Guy_Gisborne/IMG_20150323_150913_zpsrdvppodu.jpg http://i1368.photobucket.com/albums/ag196/Guy_Gisborne/IM...

Re: Insurance
My camper is covered by C&CC. They didn't have demountable as a category so they called it a 'touring caravan (demountable)'. I got a quote from Adrian Flux who would only cover both together (as has been mentioned) and their price for the truck was astronomical.

My French is not good, but the message below is on their website, which I think means they are taking some time out, see you later. C'est parti... Nous mettons en mode "pause" notre activité en 2015... Nous ne serons pas présents aux divers salons où vous avez pris l’habitude de venir nous...

Re: Grey water tank valve
To be fair to the previous owner, most of the damage to the skirts is down to me doing a 3 point turn in a French lane when I reversed into a grass bank that looked miles away in my mirrors. I blame it on a failure in the Wife-Nav system as we shouldn't have been in that lane in the first place. I a...
