Storing the camper access steps

A bit of a 'First World' problem,but where to store the aluminium access steps when the truck is demounted and dropped down to the floor and the steps have to be taken off.
I use a caravan step at home (and a beer crate when traveling - new one every time!)

I started by throwing it underneath the camper, but it ended up full of sand. And at home, I'm in the middle of a build at the house (carport, driveway paving and small workshop) so no decent storage yet.

So I came up with this piece of engineering brilliance... £2 pair of S-shaped cookshop hooks that hang on the roof ladder, then the steps hang on the hooks. Bungees for a bit of extra security.

This isn't a road transport solution BTW, there is a proper mounting bracket on the EC6 when on the road!





Keeps it out of the way, and I won't drive over it!

I leave them on the ground with a rear leg dropped inside a step to prevent theft

you should totally join the Caravan club and then you can offer helpful tips on daily wail storage and things to shout at Foreigners in dull moments

My Iveco has grills over the windows, its like having lunch in a g4s prison van (so Ive been told)

Did you add the grills, or were they part of package when you bought it?

Our apollo has a single step mounted to it, great methinks I'll just replace it with the double version as its a bit tall for lisa to get in so I went searching....... HOW MUCH ! £360 quid for a couple of aluminium steps you gotta be kidding

New solution is now being thought about

The SKarosser steps are pretty simple. I would have thought a good fabricator should be able to copy them.

We just use a plastic step bought from a Motorhome accessories shop about 10 quid seem to remember, light weight and onece pegged to the ground pretty stable.

I had a plastic step till one day I stepped out of the Iveco onto it and it just shattered, that hurt alot when I hit the ground and I split my coffee too.

I bought a metal set and at home tucked them under the truck behind the wheel for the night. Next morning I drove the truck out and ran over the steps. Another Bozo point
