Looked at the suggestions for jacks, found some tractor jacks that i can modify for £35, i hope they weigh about the same as the jacks supplied to ready mades, will let you know how I get on with them.
Enjoying the banter and help thanks Paul

Agric prop stands are exactly the same as mine, just shorter, I think you'll need to lengthen the internal square shaft and ACME thread bolt thats all

Re: Legs, not giraffe
Hi again,i have been away had computer problems and been very busy with my son making a demountable for him to live in. We finished cladding his home last friday and used the tractor jacks to lift it it on to his vehicle, the jacks worked well, were quite steady until fully wound . I am going to modify them for my rig so that they are fixed securely and don,t wobble . One thing that has to be mentioned is that if there isn't any load on the jack set in the down setting it will slide freely to the bottom ,I am going to use steel pegs to stop it from dropping to far each time , only trials will tell . Will sort some pictures of my build out soon , stuff on facebook funny . thanks Paul

Sure Paul, I'd be interested to see how they work out as i'm sure fundamentally they are the same, but yea, when you have time lets see the pictures good!
