WTF! update (or here we go again)
Re: WTF!
Ah ✖ post,
Their (Nissan) construction has been mentioned on here before, although I must say my D22 flexed definitely and I can only imagine for same reason, so maybe that it a weak point just there

Re: WTF!
Agree with that,
get back here with it first, and buy yourself some time to look at objectively,
thats how I'd do it as well definitely

Re: WTF!
Thanks Zildjian.
I don't start back at work until Thursday pm so I'm not stressing too much. The dog needs to be back in the UK before 9am on Thursday morning for his paperwork to be valid so there is plenty of time. I hope!
I will know more on Monday.

Re: WTF!
I forgot to add, that I doubt the insurance co would cover the work, it would be considered wear & tear unfortunately.
This is what I had to have done...

...The buck mounts failed as I returned from Greece (goat-track roads to blame), but it had the courtesy of doing it when we got off the ferry in Blightly rather than somewhere up a Greek mountain.
Both sides went, and I had the rear fixing eye points strengthened too, but the chassis was fine (looks very strong on the Chevy/Isuzu) Not as serious as yours and as I did all the fiddly prep it brought the bill down to next to nothing...
All will be well bud, just think it through slowly and carefully and don't rush or be rushed.

Re: WTF!
Thanks Mark.
I would much rather get back home under my own steam (all part of the holiday) but I would rather the work be done at home when I have as you say the time to get prepared and organised.

Re: WTF!
OK, look at getting it patched up for the run home. A proper job will need the buck off, but a patching/strapping job can very likely be done in-situ - can you find a local agricultural machinery engineer? those guys are good at improvisation to get harvesting kit back up an running temporarily before a proper fix after the job ends.
For the run back, load the camper kit down at floor level, empty any top lockers etc, dump the water. Put kit in the back seat of the truck to keep the weight/COG low.
Re the dog, he'll only need to have a worming pill administered 24hrs before crossing back so paperwork should be OK (Unless his pet passport is about to expire) but French vets near Calais are used to dealing with any paperwork discrepancies.
A quick google of Navara chassis issues all point to airbags as the villain of the piece... example here.#

Re: WTF!
Agric engineers are always carrying out last minute repairs like this so ask a farmer where who knows (mobile often)
and "Re the dog, he'll only need to have a worming pill administered 24hrs before crossing back so paperwork should be OK"
that's good advice

Re: WTF!
Just checked on the stickers and your's are on the mat already for when you get home anyway
Re: WTF!
The dog has already had the worming pill at the vet at 9am this morning and the window is 24 hours to 120 hours (5 days) so I need to be back in the UK between Sunday at 9am and Thursday at 9am or he will have to be done again.
I will send payment for the stickers as soon as I'm home.
Cheers.
