Damm cheek,
I'll have you know I could (probably) have a boy scout badge for operating just this sort of thing safely.
Had I been a boy scout.

Good grief no!
No scout leader would write a risk assesment for that ! its bad enough with a swiss army knife these days
The even stopped me wearing my Nepalese kukri at camp (OK one scout did ask why I was wearing a sword, I told him I used it to disembowel nosey scouts)

Not only doubles as therapeutic hobby I hope, but will come in handy for zombie wrangling in the future.
however they do offer a real alternative to strimmers

We have w scythe fair in the summer near us where contestants have to cut a patch of grass in the quickest time, its also a green fair with interesting alternative ways of living etc. There is good music as well. Its at the back of a camp site so can stay over if required. We often go.

looks suitably rustic, we might look into that sometime,
bet Rich would like that too, He mentioned the smaller folk festivals were preferable

What have you done?????
I'd heard about geocaching and after you suggested it as a winter hobby I looked into it again - now meet "DemountLandy" - I may be hooked! Went out twice today on dog walk/geocaching expeditions.
