Two clamps each side so fairly simple.

I think I have read it weighs 100kg

Not sure how much space you have but were you thinking of a rack of sorts to slide it onto for storage,
and any news with Nolan?

My plan is to fit roof rails - like in the Toyota pic earlier - and lift the roof cap off with an electric hoist through the rails.
I also have to build the steel scaffold pole rig to carry it, and before that finish the car port where the steel rig will fit - no pressure then!

Once off I'll drop it onto my storage trolley then I can wheel the thing off out of the way. It weighs at least 100kg - and is an awkward slippery thing to get hold of..

For the moment it's back to accosting a helpful neighbour and lifting the thing off by hand - a job I really hate.

I've been advised not to use the roof rails. Apparently what can happen is it can fold down the centre of the roof.

Depends in the roof I guess, but a lifting frame ( home made ) should spread the lift forces and make them vertical rather than inward.
Best make sure that the rails are well mounted with good load spreading washers or plates. Mine is more a commercial type grp top without side windows - so big stainless load plates on the inside won't look too amiss. Might be a bit ugly on one of those really fancy rear roofs though.

Simple 'spreader' between hoist/canopy would do it

Found this

Should work with a cheap engine lift and a bit adaptation.
