Watched the first episode this morning and the jury's out. What is it with Gale Anne Hurd, in that she can produce some really great movies yet still persists in making simple errors when trying to make a poor storyline work in a depiction of the real world?
Good points were on the suspense front, using the fact that we know 'what is going/about to happen' and playing on it a little. The daughter, Alicia, is the eye candy and rather nice but, frustratingly, has been tasked with acting out the usual 'I think i'm a smart arse college girl, but i'm actually a bit dim. I'm already pissed off with the son, druggie, stupid etc and can't wait for the zombies to get him and then the annoying fail in the character storyline….
it's only small, but i noticed it. We have educated people, one goes into a drug den church, to check on said druggies story of death, and finds lots of blood but no bodies. Does he; A. Call the police and report his findings, like any normal, educated human being? or B. Keep it quiet, go get his girlfriend, who's equally a smarty-pants, go back to the church, see the blood, state 'something bad happened here' and still not inform the police?
It's stupid little things like this that are endemic in The Walking Dead which I find frustrating. Yes, I know `I don't have to watch it, but some of the characters are so stupidly cast, can't act for toffee and/or suffer from the glaring errors in the storyline, that you end up watching another episode just in the hope that they'll get munched! Maybe this is a deliberate and rather clever ploy by Gale to keep us watching???

It's definitely not worth paying for, I sure didn't. If someone brings a big screen to a meeting next year, you can watch the whole series with a beer in the campsite.

Oh dear, that bad is it that's disappointing.
I felt TWD took a bit of time off around series three where it just wandered from one non-happening to another the whole year,
this people attributed to the original writer(s) not being there for some reason, then it perked up,
Carol suddenly became an insane killing machine
and it began rolling again, I liked the whole Governor thing very much then the so-called 'Termites' at terminus
