hahaha.. does the Fire USB require a wifi network, and can you stream it directly from your laptop. I've got an Apple TV and a Google Chrome, and both require a wifi network to connect too .. I do have a 3g mifi device, but don't really want to be chewing up data if I can help it.

Well I'd be dubious laying cash on something needs network coverage to work, especially with the amount of time I can't get a phone signal as we travel around, happy to be proved wrong however

We're not desperate to watch live telly, like I said it's only there for rainy days / evenings. We have a few dvd's in the camper which we regularly change + downloaded films on the Ipad which I connect to the hdmi with an apple Lightening cable. On the decent weather days we're out walking or BBQ & the radio on 8-)

Filmon.tv with hdmi lead from laptop to tv screen for places overseas that have wifi when we want to see brit tv.

The Amazon scheme though 'Firestick' does that require further subscription hard to imagine it could be that simple one off payment
