A cupful of water…. I thought the heating fluid was glycol only? Neat job though.

A 50:50 mix of ethylene glycol antifreeze and water
If you were stuck though some ionised water will be fine - you can always drain some out and add a stronger mix later.

Another of the little perks I shall miss was convenient supply of deionised water on hand

If you have the dimensions Grant, its definitely easier if you cut a pattern in cardboard then 'place' it up and down that side panel so you can decide where it looks best,
also its handy for drilling starter holes in each corner.
Cutting it out with a saw? draw lightly around template in pencil
(rub out excess lines afterwards for neatness with eraser) pre-drill the corners and saw between the lines,
router is better if you can borrow one with a straight edge like in pictures to run it along
but make sure its body will physically fit in corners where you'd like its blade to cut
