Demountable camper group

Not a million miles from my idea, but the real bug is the overal flimsy structure. They bend alarmingly when you climb them. If you laid one at the sort of angle needed to present like a stair the leverage would probably be too much and they would collapse.

I've seen them slightly worn and they do 'flex' alarmingly I agree.

as you mentioned earlier the tread width would still quite narrow, so if it was an idea I would look at finding something stainless in same profile to form some wider treads, they're a bug bear isn't it steps on campers.




Very much like the American idea of a drop down shelf or (porch) right across the rear of camper, itself a step down from interior, then you might only need a couple further steps down to ground level

Could you post a picture of how it is attached to the camper please.
Also how do you hold it up in transit?

We attached two steel plates (230mmx60mmx6mm bent into shape & painted) to the existing step mounting.
Then bolted a stainless steel towel rail (Ikea ) to the plates.

Cut holes in the top of the steps and inserted the rail. Secured & removed by two 6mm bolts.

Folded up against the camper door we secure by a bungee attached to the cycle rack mounting points.

The design keeps the treads level at any height. But as Fiona mentioned, it could do with a locking device to prevent the steps from moving.

Me i've always liked these as an idea, this one's not too hilbilly and ive looked at camper to see where best it could be attached either as a fixed device or possibly removable

Some of those insect candle& burner things work but if its overnight would one burn that long
