So I now have my truck back. It looks like they have done a decent repair. I have added photos to my first post showing before and after. I'm not sure whether to put my air bags back on or not.

It's good to hear that you've finally got sorted out Grant & the repairs looks pretty good.
But Please, next time you go Skiing. Don't upset the local coach driver, then he won't sabotage your Chassis

Respect to a man who is that angry but doesn't spill his tea!
Nice to see your truck repaired, I don't think you can avoid the airbags though... The first drive without them will remind you how scary the ride can be.
Run them at a lower pressure so they are helpers rather than taking the whole weight.
Also, is there an updated spring kit?

I fitted uprated leaf springs on the back so my rig has never been unsafe or uncomfortable without the airbags. The main reason for getting the air bags in the first place was just for looks as it still sits low at the back. I think since I spent all that money on the airbags it would be a waste not to put them back on.

And I know we'd hoped not to see this thread resurface again,
any Navara owners take note this is the second time in six months now, but it shouldn't be an issue to prevent, just some plates welded on either side of each chassis rail behind cab,
prevention better than cure people

This is the Aussie 'fix' - a plasma cut plate to beef up the rather spindly rear section of the chassis. Any reasonable fabricator should be able to make these up and fit quite reasonably.
That Navara should be fixed and back up and running better than before in no time.

While I can see the sense in this as an aftermarket service adding them as and when needed,
but if Alamist ind wanted to, they could make a steady living playing on that MMM article this month,
"what do your bulging tyres mean"?
