Good evening Chris and hi,

What are your needs especially, do you already own a pickup to carry a demountable for example, or is this something to be budgeted for,
We offer a digest of all the UK sales this is the most recent page (so current units for sale)
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5&start=200

but any questions you can think of that you can't see covered by the group so far, just ask away

Well European campers are pretty much standard these days and nearly all designed to fit crew-cab pickups,
the only variations is in length of floor of camper and the bed over the cab is a different length,

Don't know what prices of pickups are like in Portugal of course, but here at least
Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota, all seem popular
some combinations require the removal of tailgate in use, as campers may have a water tank or something on the underside in the way.
most will benefit from the addition of air assisted suspension kits on back axle, it doesn't increase weight permitted,
just makes the ride that bit nicer.

Campers typically weigh in between 600-700KG so airbags just level the vehicle back out to its normal position

Hello and Welcome. You've stirred up the hornets nest asking what pickup to go for. Everyone has very different opinions on which is best.

Indeed, do you have any likes/dislikes on manufacturers,
and is there an established marque in Portugal you see a lot of ?

For the campers themselves I don't think know of a manufacturer in Portugal, Spain and France, yes and in fact the nearest dealer in France I can think might be down on Spanish side
(well, below Toulouse anyway)

He also offers these 'Billy's which seem good value and fit anything Prix: € 15.000,00
