I'm not a big fan of towing mirrors but I was wondering are they required for a demountable or is the visibility ok without them.

To be honest, your better using them as most demountables are at least 2.1m wide. With them on you get a good clear view right down both sides of the rig

What I have found in use
is that camper hardly ever gets loaded centrally time after time, and in fact with potentially off-centre 2" either way one mirror is really useable for pre-look overtaking, the other not much use,
that said I've a permanently live rear view camera & monitor built into sun visor now, so it wont matter so much

My personal view? I wouldn't leave home without them. Can't see safely what's happening behind.
Actually I always leave home without them, and find that five miles down the road I can't see anything unless it's half way past me in an an overtake. So it's pull into the next layby, and dig in the camper to get them out...
Oh... My camper is always
dead centre.

I got free Caravan and Camping Club membership with my RAC cover ths year so feel I can embrace such things.
I still enjoy arriving an a c& cc site with my rig covered in mud just to make the 'neighbours' nervous...
Should I get one of those rolly type water carriers that 'those' folk have?
