For sale is a good idea usually lower down the order on most other enthusiasts site so OK

Can't see anything 'under the bonnet' about the notify option as yet, but will make enquiries'
in the meantime visit and ask for active topics

Cant see anything that allows retrospective subscription (at the moment anyway)
there is mention of subscribing a whole forum, but that might not be suitable for your need.

Found what I was looking for, auto subcribe to a thread if you post to it is in the users own setup, its not a gloabl setting. At the very bottom, in the grey bit there is a check box to subcribe to a thread you have not posted to

what I would suggest to any of you is getting to know this icon



our site has this facility (bottom right of page)

install an RSS reader if you are Chrome broser add it from the preferences>extensions> 'The RSS Aggregator 4.7'
click on the orange logo pictured and any activity on that site will pop up on your screen in the corner as notifier
