Hi
I see one rig on Ebay was registered as a camper van . Does it make any difference to road tax or insurance ?
Are most trucks pretty much the same tax or are there differences ?
Thanks Jim

Nothing much on registering them as anything other than a pick up as normal so £200+ annually
do you have the truck already?

Trucks generally Navara, VW Amarok, Hilux, Mazda & ranger
couple of L200 Mitsubishi I think

all of them about the same size do the same thing its down to personal preference of course
have a look in the who owns what list for ideas

your insurance is all here on the front page together with many of the frequently asked questions, as I say we offer a free service where if people are interested they tell us where they live and we show them their nearest outfit
we've operated this for some time

I read that topic . I just wondered if any one had bought one type and regretted it ? I suppose that you just get used to what you have got and most people have little else to compare it with .

I've had experience of three different rigs, on the same truck. Pm if you want to ask about either

There is somewhat of an aversion to Navara's as the frame rails do seem to be made from chocolate. Other than that, it's down to personal choice. For me, with a fitting in the truck issue due to my height, i'm looking at the new Series 5 L200 and 2016 Hi-Lux. I did look at the Ranger, but the new L200 is much nicer to drive and way less thirsty. Navra, bendy and thirsty, D-Max, nice but too cramped, Amarok, nice seating position, roomy cab, smallest engine in the biggest truck, still thirsty and now the emissions can't be trusted! Older Hi-Lux, cramped cab but good all round truck with reputation for build quality/reliability, good fuel consumption but choppy ride handling compared to the new boys on the block.
