Demountable camper group

Do any of you keep any heat in the camper over winter?

I have just fitted a 450w convector heater in the camper for use when we have mains hook up which should be enough to keep the chill off during the night.

I'm thinking of leaving it in a low setting while it's sat on the drive.

I've left my heating on now for the second winter for a couple of reasons.

1. You don't have to drain down the system.
2. It stops any material going mouldy.
3. It's ready to roll at any time !!!
4. It's nice & toasty warm ready for when you have a domestic with the other half.

We have a boat. ( camper coming later in the year). We have a tube heater with thermostat set at just above freezing. Just keeps it from getting too cold without wasting energy heating it unnecessarily. We still drain everything down just in case though.

I keep an electric blanket under the mattress and run that all winter while de mounted. To keep the cabin dry I have a 60watt tube heater also running off a mains hookup lead. It only costs pennies a day for great peace of mind and a bone dry spare bed any time it's needed.

Speaking as a fellow professional, it's a designed to be kept on under bed electric blanky. An all night job. Actually it does keep the bed bone dry and cosy. We don't use it when were travelling, cos we wildcamp. No leccy.
