Three new campers...

With Dutch Campers we have a superb range of mid and larger size demountables. From the compact DC-200 through to the DC-280, there's a camper for most pickups and most people's needs, and if that's still not enough there's always the bespoke option. The biggest issue is keeping up with demand and production is now sold out till October.

Now we'd like to introduce three more brands to the UK, each one supreme in it's own right, and each perfectly tailored to it's place in the market.

GaZell

Image

The GaZell needs no introduction. This innovative and high quality camper is especially popular with those planning extended tours off-piste. It's designed to fit comfortably within a standard shipping container and is a totally dependable and reliable travel partner even in the harshest conditions. Don't dismiss the GaZell as only an expedition camper though, it's equally practical, comfortable and enjoyable for everyday holiday use.

Billy's

Image

Strange name - great camper. The Billys is produced by Wilco Lenson in the South of France. Wilco is France's 'Monsieur Cellulepickup' and has drawn upon his vast experience to produce his own demountable. This all new camper will be available initially as a shell only for DIY completion. The cabins are produced using vacuum infused composite, the same technology used in racing yachts and power boats. It is extremely light, incredibly tough and has an attractive gelcoat finish available in a choice of colours. As with all our campers there are no joints to leak and no timber frame to rot. The cabins come fully insulated with factory installed doors and service hatches. Windows, roof-lights and jacks are available as options, but from then on it's down to you. The 'Billys' is available to pre-order now with first deliveries expected in late June.

Camperhit

Image

Another strange name, another great new camper, this time from Poland. Camperhit have been around a while and have produced their own campers in the past, but they are best known as one of Europe's leading repair centres for majorly damaged motorhomes.
Their new camper draws on this experience and is a compact, universal cabin designed to fit pretty much any pickup. Size wise it fits somewhere between our DC-200 and DC-220 but it's very different in concept. Instead of tailoring each cabin perfectly to each truck and to each customer's precise needs, this is a universal 'one size fits all' cabin. Options are obviously more limited but the Camperhit just oozes quality. Don't let those flowing lines deceive you either, this thing is bomb proof. The shell is manufactured from vacuum infused composite and the furniture produced from best quality lightweight faced ply. The new Camperhit model will be officially launched at Bad Kissingen end of May.

For more information on any of the above just ask, we'd be delighted to hear from you.

Best wishes

The launch is at Bad Kissingen end of May so no photos until then. Basic spec is high, layout is front dinette/second double, galley down one side, fridge & wardrobe the other. Entrance 'alley' just inside door becomes loo compartment. Huge bed in alcove, even bigger if you opt for North/South option. Good insulation, heating, LED lighting etc. all standard. Hot water, solar power etc on the options list.
It's construction is a huge attraction too. Vacuum infused composites are incredible, GRP is well proven and as tough as nuts but this is it engineered to a new level. It's common place in the marine world for high performance race yachts and power boats though, and the Poles are rather good at it. A huge number (maybe even most) of Europe's leading yacht and powerboat manufactures have boats built on Poland. Their expertise is second to none. So what's the catch?
Well there is one, there always is. In this case the down side is you need expensive moulds and tooling, so in a small market like demountables, the only way to make the sums make any sense is to have one mould covering as bigger range of base cars as possible. Even then it won't be cheap.

As I said no photos until BK (I wish I could, but I can't. Sorry) But if you are interested to see if it will fit your truck here's a sneak preview...

Gazells yes, but not Billys. This is a totally new project for Wilco. He did 'badge engineer' a cabin (aka Yankee in UK and under various US, German and Scandinavian brands). He only a sold a few and they bear no resemblance to the new one.

Yes, but the real high comes from having a full size camper that weighs around half that of some others of similar size :-)

Seamless Gary (that was) the Vodka had my name on it at one point as there was a naming contest for this camper,

Not quite sure the status on that just now....
