S.Karosser Roof Lights?
I have a small roof light/vent in the area by the fridge and cooker hob, which has a sticking blackout blind. I'd like to know what make of roof light these are (guessing MPK or Heki) and, can I get a replacement blackout blind mechanism?
Whilst on the subject, would it be advisable and/or more economical to replace the whole unit with a larger roof light/vent?

Re: S.Karosser Roof Lights?
Have you ever had a sunroof installed on a car,
how better/worse was it at keeping rainwater out than previous roof?
For my 2p worth I would strongly advise against cutting any large apertures in a perfectly serviceable roof,
There is however a thread here about's detailing the replacement of the skylight you mention
as that is something I approve of

Well me anyway I have replaced a skylight on a motorhome much like the one above in the link actually, but some of those

Thanks for the linky. Looks like Hartal Units in the S.Karosser's, which are a bit of a rarity. I may be able to re-tension the blind but, if all else fails, they're a standard size, so I can always buy an MPK unit as a direct replacement.

I just saw this months copy of Practical Motorhome (I think) and there's an article about servicing sticking or strained blinds. Might be worth ten minutes in WH Smith with your smartphone camera.
I don't buy this mag so can't copy it for you.
Actually, if anyone does take it and would scan it and out it up here that might be useful for others

They all look to be of a similar mechanism, so it's just a case of getting the whole blind out, re-tensioning by turning the centre spindle a few times and re-fitting, which is the tricky bit as you can't let go of the spindle until it's back in the holder.

Also try some silcone lubricant spray. It's great on moving plastic parts, doesn't hold dust & doesn't leave any residue.
I use it all the time for work
