I only have about 15 mm clearance either side of the tailgate opening and if the truck isn't level as I approach it makes loading tricky.
The first picture is of a baton that had been added to the camper . The idea was that is supported the tail end on the back edge of the truck . The truck bed actually falls away at the point so it actually wasn't resting on anything . I have nicked an idea from Bimobil and I will fix the baton onto the underside of the camper and bolt the angle iron bracket to the bed of the truck,
Hopefully it will nudge the back end into place and stop the camper skidding sideways when on the move . I can't complete it till I get new buffers to work out the spacing . I might be able to pick some up tomorrow at Weston Park transport show in Shropshire ,
any one here going ?

And the upside down angle 'guides' the camper in straight?
good as long as the truck is about right height in first place, otherwise camper just ends up going straight over them,
Many of us have various methods to achieve this and given up, if you can get it to load on an uneven piece of land then good luck.

Got it, camper will drop into them, might take a bit of practise as lowering camper by yourself unless its powered means it drops an inch on left, then right, then left again
if powered it raises and lowers level anyway of course

Sorry , rather boring video , but it does work . Would yo belive I had to back the truck in 4 times to get it a bit wrong !
I mounted the yellow bar onto the tailgate hinges to save drilling the body again , I have even used the same bolts .

An interesting idea that, anything that helps load camper in a straight line must be a good idea,
Are the wheel arches rnough to keep it straight at front, not all vehicles are the same width of course

I have maybe an inch each side between the wheel arches and I have a rough texture load liner . I would be too far off if I relied on them as a guide . I don't want to drill any more holes in the bed , I will see how I get on for now .

Jim, what did you decide on the extra battery issue in the end?
I think it was you wasn't it with room under the bonnet for a second battery for the camper

Hi , no I haven't looked at the battery issue yet . I think that putting one under the bonnet is not a good idea , cable runs too long and not able to use or solar charge it when unloaded . I have bought a decent bottle jack which I will keep order the bonnet .It makes more sense to fit another leasure battery near the other one . But my dilemma is the original leasure battery is quite small , I think about 75 , do I buy another the same size or 2 new ones at 110 ?
