WTF! update (or here we go again)
Re: WTF! update update!
I've made it home after an arduous few days. My truck is definitely being repatriated but it'll take 10-14 working days from today. I'm going to BED.
Goodnight.

My camper is now in the UK somewhere. It will be delivered to me on Monday or Tuesday next week. I will be taking my truck straight down to Nissan to see what they have to say. Have you got any advice on how I should play it?

Re: WTF! update update!
Well, what I would suggest as a starting point is the navara community
http://www.nissan-navara.net/search.php ... ive_topics
they do after all have a history of chasing Nissan for poor engineering of the motors on D22's in recent years and if anyone knows how to handle them these guys would
well apart from Watchdog that time

I've been active on that forum for a few years now. It's full of useful info on all the Navara models and the Pathfinder.

Re: WTF! update update!
I joined some time ago too when I had one and needed some answers, generally they're not too redneck
and I've read a few successful stories about dealing with Nissan.
certainly when you go digging about especially in the Asia forums on nissan there is mention of chassis failures, but then you can't google every possible bad news story before buying a car or you'd not haver time to buy one

Re: WTF! update update!
Hi guys
I noticed the comments regarding doubts about strapping the camper into the tub. I tried this on my first couple of outings with our Apollo/Navara rig and was never happy with it. I looked to America for the answer and it worked out exceedingly well.
Check out Torklift Fastguns and tiedowns at http://www.torklift.com . The Navara is sold in the States as the Frontier and Torklift manufacture chassis fixings for the Frontier. The forward tiedowns bolt on to the chassis using existing holes so no drilling or welding required, the rear tiedowns bolt to the tow bar side plates which require drilling and in my case the tiedown tubes needed shortening. The Fastguns are lever operated steel clamps, and when set up exert considerable clamping force down on the bed, easy to put on and remove though and lockable.
Torklift only sell through dealers and I ordered mine from http://www.panthercampers.com/ , the service was wonderful. Shipping cost as much as the product but well worth it. Check out Torklifts other stuff too, such as the folding steps, great stuff, the yanks really know about demountables. Ill post some pictures in the near future.
