EC6L Gas Locker Question

Post: # 7286Post cthodgson

Ey Up all,

We are having a gaslow system fitted tomorrow and the engineer thinks it's only possible to fit 1 x 6kg and one of their 3 kg bottles in our locker.

Peaky told me that someone at the meet had 2 6kg calor bottles in their locker does anyone know how they did this, as if this can work then I can fit the gaslow 6s in...

Cheers in advance

I have 2 x 6kg calor lites in mine, along with wheel chocks, jack pads, gas tools and other bits & pieces. They go 'opposite corners' and only just, so I guess that if gaslows bottles are larger dia than calors then its a no-go.

And before Zildjian kicks off with his 'Pictures or it didn't happen...' I have just walked outside, photographed it, edited this post and uploaded it.. :geek:

Thanks rubberrat,

that's interesting - a quick search for the calor lite bottles gives a diameter of 246mm... the same as the 6kg gaslow ones

Have you had to move any of the pipes/cables in the back corner to achieve this or is it just a really snug fit?

Zildjian, I've been contemplating learning the ukelele, just got to master gator-hogging first :D

Just a snug fit. Lites are taller than standard bottles so the grey plastic handles only just clear the top of the locker - put the left one in first, and move into the carrier, then the right - bottom in first - then the handles swing in just grazing the top. another mm and it wouldn't work.
All pipework is original from SKarosser - although I carry a Camping Gaz regulator & pigtail for emergency use overseas.

There is just enough room for a Dulcimer along side ;)

I can hear the googling from here...

For those of you wondering Rubberrat is in denial at his hipster behaviour,
love for; (twirly moustache. penny Farthing ownership a waistcoat and pocket watch)

most sincerely believe adding an obscure musical instrument to this ensemble makes them endearing,

(it does not)

Cheers for the info rubberrat...

As a child I was obsessed with and wanted to wear a monocle, not sure what that means?

It just means you were ahead of your time, or were to chase foxes on a horse later in life
