I posted this yesterday and it's disappeared, so here it is again…
I contacted Marcle Leisure and asked them about availability of airbags for the new Series Five L200 and the forthcoming Hi-Lux. They quickly responded and said that Dunlop were unlikely to get an airbag kit up and running any time soon, but Firestone informed them that the new L200 has the same fittings as the the older, Series Four and, that as soon as they could get their hands on a new 2016 Hi-Lux, they'd get an airbag kit up and running for it.
New Pickup Airbags
Re: New Pickup Airbags
How's the vehicle search going then Rich, garage beside us has the New L200 out on the forecourt, it does look pretty snazzy I must say, do you have a revised short list?

Re: New Pickup Airbags
Still awaiting the new Hi-Lux. I fit in the new L200 and it appears to be very economical compared to the competition, but it's 50/50 until i've had chance to compare the two together. I did read, on one website, that the new engines on the Hi-Lux were claiming a smidge under 40mpg and both trucks are Euro 6, but they go about it in different ways. Fuel consumption, seating position and a reliable exhaust emissions system will dictate which one I go for at the end of the day. I did consider going for Lloyd's older Ranger that was for sale recently - as I was thinking the lower purchase cost would offset the increase in fuel costs, but had to pull out of the viewing and gave up on the idea after a couple of days thinking about it.
Just been reading the internal height thread and I could probably do with Rubberrat's 6'9" EC6, but happy stooping in my 6'3" for now.
I've mostly ruled out the new Ranger, as they've not fitted a height adjustable steering column and they're still using the old Euro 5 engine, which i'd have thought they'd have gone Euro 6 on the face lifted model. This makes me question the reliability of their Euro 6 engine, if they've not been able to fit it yet.
The only other model I fit in properly is the Amarok. Unfortunately, it has a piddly little engine which doesn't do great mpg, oh and there's the whole emissions scandal too. I did look at a 2012, mint, well priced, low mileage one on Autotrader t'other day, but the aforementioned negatives put me off going any further.
