Certificated Sites?

Post: # 7082Post mjb666

I have just rung the Owner of one of these sites that we stayed at three years ago near Lyme Regis in Dorset to book two nights and been asked for my CCC membership number? I said, " Come on Mate, its me & the wife in that odd pick up camper thing, you remember. I've got that special membership deal going, i pay cash ".

Long & short of it is, join on line for £37 pa & we can stay, if not, wild camp. They now get regular spot checks & if i was there without my membership, they lose their status.

I like the site because its very rural, great shower/loo block & cheap with a maximum of five vehicles.

Have any of you fellow members joined? I do seem to remember that there are benefits to be gained, i think it was to do with recovery deals?

If we join, will that earn me a "Yellow Card " from the Management?

ps. he remembered me.

Can someone clarify this for me at least,
Full CC campsite, that's shirt & tie
Park in straight lines rover keys in a big fruit bowl right!

Certified location I fondly imagined it bilt like above but without the straight lines bit at least

And of course he remembered you Mike, who could forget ;)

What are Certificated Sites?

Also known as CSs, these select sites are small, privately run campsites that can accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes, and tents

Non-members are able to join the Club onsite, With fees from as little as £5 per unit, per night

We have an expert team of Site Officers who go out and inspect our CSs every year to make sure they are up to the standard our members expect

No mention of attire, linear parking or swinging, though maybe I mis-read that somewhere

CC sites, exact replica of home counties estate of bungalows. All the men are on the neighbourhood watch and the women are in the WI.
CCC sites, exact replica of Northern estate of Barratt houses. All the men are builders and the women are watching Loose Women.
Cool Camping sites, exact replica of hippy commune, All the men work in digital marketing and the women work in Steiner schools.

I love a stereotype!

I'm in CCC for no other reason than it came free with our RAC cover.

Meant to mention actually,
Manor farm has spawned a warden where none was deemed necessary before, true to type he and his Wife have been the desultory double-act that they almost always are everywhere.
Both wanting the fun bit about free parking for the van + hating and despising those paying for the privilege.

Last night he strode ignored the demarcation I was mocking Que about, and strode right through someone's evening meal to unplug an errant hook up lead

And tomorrow... Poland...

Last time there (when you were there) a guy rolled up opposite with his German Shepherd bounding about and causing mayhem. Warden pedaled up. a short altercation about leads, and then the tentist buggered off with his kit, kids and dog...
Not sure if elsewhere in Norfolk or the Manor Farm 'Naughty Step'

What are Cool Camping sites? Is it some sort of membership club or a website recomending places?

I work in a factory with pcb's, thats the electonics that work all the digital media things so does that mean they would let me turn up and join in?

I have found a non certificated site in Whitchurch Conicorium & will make enquiries to stay there instead & its quite to close to Pilsdon Pen which i just love sitting on top of, fantastic views from the old Hill Fort.
